SERVICES

Jones Physical Therapy has a reputation for treating complex issues. This can range from an athletic injury to chronic back pain or hemorrhoids. We value our experience with these difficult cases as it has made us better practitioners and a better team. We use both conservative and alternative therapies to help you heal and return to your activities. We are able to evaluate and diagnose you on your first visit. This means that we have many tests we can perform in the office to determine the root of your concern. We can then discuss if you would benefit from therapy, or if you may require a referral back to your physician for further testing or imagining. We have many tools to address your concerns including manual therapy, visceral mobilization, manual lymphatic drainage, neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercises, strengthening/stabilization, dry needling, kinesiotape, cupping, graston, estim, ultrasound, cold laser, craniosacral therapy and mechanical traction.

Hemorrhoids

While hemorrhoids are extremely common, they are often not discussed. Many people suffer with discomfort for years before asking their doctor for help. Dr. Jones performs a non surgical procedure that addresses internal hemorrhoids, which are often the root of many problems. Hemorrhoids can cause pain with bowel movements, irritation, bleeding, external hemorrhoids, itching, deep internal rectal pain, tailbone pain, inconsistency with bowel movements (fluctuating between constipation and loose stool), a pressure or sensation you haven’t emptied completely and even feeling like you can’t get clean with wiping. If you are experiencing pain and discomfort of external hemorrhoids, the internal are usually the issue and can be taken care of easily. The procedure is done in the office and you are able to go on with your daily activities as usual after you are done. Click here for more information.

Muscle/Joints

There are many musculoskeletal issues that can cause discomfort in our everyday lives. While many of us tend to “put up with the pain” or think it will “clear up on its own”, it is important to remember that pain is a way for our body to tell us there is something wrong. If left untreated these small pains can become more serious or start to cause more issues. This may be a new pain that just started or an old chronic injury that has been bothering you for years.

Our team has many tools along with extensive experience to help you find the root of your pain and get you back on the right path. For some it may require a series of therapy appointments while other issues may benefit from a home program. We take each individual and make a customized plan that fits with your needs and lifestyle.

Men’s Health

Many men suffer from pelvic pain. This may present as testicular pain, rectal pain, or perineal discomfort. This can be the result of overuse, tension patterns, injury or post surgical. Unfortunately, pelvic pain in men is often diagnosed as an infection when it can be the result of tightened pelvic muscles, fascial tension or a combination. At Jones PT, our practitioners have experience with complex pelvic pain in men. Through a thorough exam and history we can determine factors in your pain; as well as how your body may be compensating to function with this pain. Issues that we often see with mens health include the following:

  • Pelvic pain
  • Scrotal/testicular pain
  • Hernias/hernia repair (often fascial restrictions and guarded tension patterns throughout the abdomen)
  • Incontinence (urinary and fecal)
  • Nocturia (having to get up multiple times/night to urinate)
  • Feeling your urinary stream is weak or incomplete emptying
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Abdominal pain

Women’s Health

Women’s health encompasses a wide range of issues. At Jones PT we have over 12 years of experience treating complex women’s health issues that range from pregnancy to pelvic pain and post surgical issues. These can be complex cases and we often work very closely with multiple OB/GYNs and surgeons both locally and from Mayo. Pelvic muscle dysfunction can be at the root of many issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, and even low back pain/SI instability. There is also a very strong emotional aspect when dealing with the pelvic area. At Jones PT we feel this is important to honor as our body is connected mind, body and soul.

At Jones PT we often treat digestive issues such as constipation, IBS symptoms and abdominal discomfort. We take a thorough history and listen to your symptoms to help form a plan of care. These issues can be stress related, tension patterns, fascial restrictions, muscle dysfunction, diet or other gut issues. We work with physicians and naturopaths regularly to provide you with a team approach to treat these issues as they are often multifaceted. We often address these issues with myofascial release to minimize tension patterns and tightness from adhesions. We will also assess the PFMs and rule out obstruction from hemorrhoids.
